In 2023, more than 50,000 migrants from Central Asia illegally crossed the U.S. border, stated Senator Steve Daines from the state of Montana during a press conference, citing a "high-ranking official," Daily Mail reports.

According to Mr. Daines, authorities are concerned about the influx of migrants, fearing that they may be "part of sleeper cells for a terrorist attack on the U.S."

Nonetheless, the non-profit organization Transaction Records Access Clearinghouse, which tracks asylum court hearings in the U.S., reports that at least 40,000 citizens from Central Asia are currently awaiting court proceedings related to asylum requests.

Among them, 17,000 are citizens of Uzbekistan, 7,000 from Kyrgyzstan, 3,000 from Tajikistan, 2,700 from Kazakhstan, and 2,000 from Turkmenistan.

Due to the migration crisis at the U.S. border, Steve Daines has called on President Joe Biden to take action.

According to official data presented by Daily Mail, since Biden took office in 2021, over 7.3 million migrants illegally crossed the U.S. border. The highest monthly record was set in December 2023, with more than 302,000 migrants. Subsequently, it was revealed that 19 of them were on the FBI's wanted list of terrorists.
