In Kazakhstan, level of gasification for population to be increased

The authorities of Kazakhstan will increase the level of gas supply to the population, reports the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan.

The Government of Kazakhstan summarized the results of the first half of the year in the energy sector, particularly regarding gasification. It was noted that the country's gas production volume increased from 42.3 billion cubic meters in 2013 to 59.1 billion cubic meters in 2023. The first six months of 2024 also show a positive trend in gas production. The government expects that by 2030, gas production will reach 91 billion cubic meters.

The level of gasification of the population in Kazakhstan at the end of 2023 was 60%. It is clarified that 12 million citizens of the country have access to natural gas.

"By the end of 2023, the level of gasification in Kazakhstan was 60%, providing access to natural gas for 12 million people. In 2024, it is planned to gasify 128 settlements, which will increase the level of gas supply to 61.8%," the statement said.

These plans are supported by financing. In the first half of 2024, 89.3 billion tenge was allocated for the implementation of 107 projects. As a result, 44 settlements with a total population of more than 232,000 people will be gasified.

By the end of the year, another 105.4 billion tenge is planned to be allocated to provide gas to more than 300,000 people and to modernize gas pipelines with a length of 1.7 thousand kilometers.

The total population of Kazakhstan is 20 mln people.
