Industrial production in Tajikistan increased by 15.3% in nine months

In Tajikistan, industrial production for the first nine months of 2024, including output from private entrepreneurs, reached 36 billion somoni, according to the Agency for Statistics of Tajikistan.

Compared to the same period in 2023, production increased by 15.3% in comparable prices, driven by growth in key sectors:

- Mining industry: +35.9%
- Manufacturing: +10%
- Electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply: +0.6%
- Water supply, waste management, and recycling: 1.7x increase

Additionally, Najibullo Rajabzoda, Chairman of the Board of TALCO (Tajik Aluminium Company), announced plans to further increase aluminum production. In the first half of 2024, TALCO produced over 40,400 tons of aluminum - 24.7% more than last year.

By the end of 2024, TALCO aims to boost production by 30. During the first half of the year, the company exported more than 35,000 tons of aluminum, generating over $80 million. With approximately 98% of the plant’s production exported annually, TALCO remains a critical export enterprise for the republic.
