The participants of the motor rally "Caspian - Sea of Friendship", which started in the Russian city of Astrakhan on April 1, 2023, reached Turkmenistan, the Astrakhan 24 portal reports.
The first stopping point was Kazakhstan's Atyrau, then the path lay through the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan along the coast of the Caspian Sea.
On April 4, the participants of the motocross reached the Turkmen Garabogaz, where they were warmly welcomed by the officials of the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan. Then the group headed to the Avaza national tourist zone and stayed at the Berkarar hotel. Later, the motorcyclists reached Ashgabat, covering a total of almost 2,000 km.
The Astrakhan region and Turkmenistan are linked by long-term cooperation. The trade and economic sphere is one of the key areas of cooperation. Food products, agricultural raw materials, chemical products, ships and watercraft, building materials are exported. Ferrous metals, equipment, mineral products are imported. The agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Russian region and Turkmenistan has been in force for 15 years.
Astrakhan residents on "iron horses" will visit five Caspian states: Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan. Until April 11, the convoy of motorcyclists will also visit the Iranian cities of Babolser and Reshte, the Azerbaijani cities of Astar and Baku, and the Russian city of Kaspiysk. This action is designed to strengthen good neighborly relations with the countries of the Caspian region.
