Investments from Korea to Kazakhstan increase

The Korean Trade and Investment Promotion Agency KOTRA with the support of Samsung Electronics organized the 2023 K-Lifestyle exhibition in Almaty, which presents a wide range of Korean products, Forbes.kz reports.

Bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Korea are developing on the rise. Korea is one of the major investors in Kazakhstan.

Over the past 18 years, the gross inflow of investments from South Korea to Kazakhstan amounted to about $8.4 billion, and in 2022 this figure broke the record for the entire history of economic relations between the two countries - $1.48 billion. The trade turnover between the two countries in 2022 amounted to $6.1 billion

The flagship of the South Korean economy, Samsung, which supported the event, in every possible way contributes to the increase in trade between Kazakhstan and Korea. This event is part of a global campaign to promote the city of Busan as a candidate for EXPO 2030, and Samsung is actively supporting this effort as the city is ready to bring cutting-edge science and technology to the world.

Busan, the largest port city in Korea, has nominated itself to host the International Exhibition EXPO-2030. The right to hold this exhibition will be decided this fall, and Korea is actively promoting the candidacy of Busan among the countries of the world.
