Kyrgyzstan's tourism sector attracted around $50 million in foreign direct investment (excluding outflows) in 2022, which is a 13.3% increase compared to 2021, Akchabar reports.
The share of foreign direct investment in Kyrgyzstan's tourism sector in the total investment volume amounted to 4.1%, whereas it was 4.4% in the previous year.
"The main volume of foreign direct investment came from the Netherlands - 54.6%, UAE - 25.1%, China - 10.7%, Germany - 3%, and also Russia - 2.3%," stated the report from Kyrgyzstan's National Statistical Committee.
Over 19 billion soms were invested in the construction of tourism facilities in 2022, which is 1.4 times more than in 2021.
