The issues of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed by Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Agriculture, Ermek Kenzhekhanuly, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kazakhstan, Ali Akbar Joukar, the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan reported.
Ermek Kenzhekhanuly noted that one of the priority areas remains the implementation of investment projects in the agricultural sector.
“We are striving to increase investment figures and the trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Iran. We are also ready to provide the necessary support to Iranian investors interested in implementing projects in our country. In 2022, we exported a record 1 million tons of grain to Iran. We would like to work with you in other equally important areas,” said the Vice Minister of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, key sectors were identified as potential foundations for further cooperation, including food production and crop farming.
Ali Akbar Joukar emphasized the importance of further developing Kazakh-Iranian relations and expressed interest in Kazakhstan's fishing industry.
The participants of the meeting confirmed their readiness to maintain active contacts and discuss all mutually beneficial initiatives.
At the end of the meeting, Ermek Kenzhekhanuly invited the Iranian ambassador and potential investors to attend the international exhibition "KazAgro&KazFarm," which will be held in Astana in October.
