Iran attaches great importance to transit through its territory and swap gas supplies from Turkmenistan, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said, Mehr news agency reported. The agency reported the results of a telephone conversation between the Iranian minister and his Turkmen counterpart, Rashid Meredov.
The head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan noted that Ashgabat has no restrictions on the development of bilateral cooperation, touching upon the agreement to hold a joint economic commission of Turkmenistan and Iran next year.
Rashid Meredov also stressed the importance of interaction through international organizations, in particular, they talked about cooperation within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
