Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit. As part of his trip, Araghchi held talks with Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkmenportal.tm reports.
The two diplomats discussed the escalating crisis in the Middle East and exchanged views on key regional and international developments. According to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on the peaceful resolution of conflicts and emphasized the importance of relying solely on political and diplomatic tools.
Araghchi expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for their expression of solidarity with the Iranian people and support in addressing humanitarian issues. He also affirmed Iran’s readiness to continue a constructive political dialogue with Ashgabat.
Turkmenistan reiterated its commitment to permanent neutrality, stressing the inadmissibility of the use or threat of force in international affairs. Ashgabat also signaled its willingness to act as a mediator in negotiations between conflicting parties, with the goal of restoring peace, stability, and security in the Middle East.
Prior to arriving in Ashgabat, Araghchi held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
