Kazakh Grain Supplies to Afghanistan Nearly Double

From September 2025 to January 31, 2026, Kazakhstan exported 5.8 million tons of grain, an increase of 1 million tons compared to the same period of the previous marketing year (4.8 million tons). These data are presented in a report by JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazinform reports.

The main growth in supplies was to the traditional markets of Central and South Asia.

For example, grain exports to Uzbekistan increased by 49%, from 1,813,000 tons to 2,702,000 tons. Exports to Kyrgyzstan increased by 1.7 times, from 95,000 tons to 163,000 tons. Exports to Afghanistan increased by 1.9 times, from 216,000 tons to 416,000 tons.

It was previously reported that grain exports from Kazakhstan increased by a third. The Ministry of Agriculture noted that grain exporters can begin shipping the new wheat harvest this year in order to receive compensation for transportation costs in early 2026.
