Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the priority of developing multifaceted cooperation with Azerbaijan, a country that, in his words, has significantly strengthened its international standing, Kazinform reports.
During official talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is on a state visit to Kazakhstan, Tokayev stressed the brotherly nature of relations between the two nations.
"Without any exaggeration, it can be said that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are not only friendly states but also brotherly nations," the Kazakh leader stated.
For his part, President Ilham Aliyev praised Kazakhstan’s successful development and expressed full support for Tokayev’s reform agenda.
"We are closely following the reforms you are implementing and fully support your course toward modernization and strengthening the country’s potential," Aliyev said.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation across all areas.
The two heads of state discussed in detail opportunities to expand partnership in key sectors, including trade and economy, investment, agriculture, and transit-transport connectivity. Cultural and humanitarian collaboration was also high on the agenda. Additionally, the presidents exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues, noting the convergence of their countries’ positions on many of them.
