Kazakhstan, as one of the founding members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), intends to use its chairmanship to transform it into a more efficient organization capable of addressing the challenges before us, stated President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Zakon.kz reports.
According to him, over more than two decades, the SCO has accumulated valuable experience in developing multilateral relations and regional cooperation.
Taking into account the shared interests and priorities of BRICS and the SCO, the President of Kazakhstan proposed combining efforts.
"We must seek an acceptable formula for peace, stability, and security based on the UN Charter. To this end, at this year's SCO Summit, I put forward the initiative 'On Global Unity for a Just World and Accord.' I made this proposal during the Dialogue of Heads of State in the 'BRICS Plus' format," Tokayev said.
This initiative aims to make progress in the field of global security and stability, as well as to establish a more rational political and economic international order, according to the President of Kazakhstan.
Partners from BRICS and "BRICS Plus" could collaborate in promoting this initiative for the common good, Tokayev stated.
