ASTANA - A meeting was held in Kazakhstan between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin and Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Asad Majid Khan, Kazinform reports.
The parties discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing transport routes, and digitalizing the economy. It was noted that ECO countries remain important partners for Kazakhstan: by the end of 2025, mutual trade turnover exceeded $15 billion, showing an increase of more than 11%.
Particular attention was paid to the development of logistics, including the North-South Corridor, as well as new routes through China to Pakistan. It was emphasized that such projects are of strategic importance for countries in the region and expand access to international markets.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen their partnership and develop joint initiatives.
