Senators of Kazakhstan have ratified the Agreement between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue in the event of aircraft accidents, Zakon.kz reports.
The purpose of the law is to facilitate cooperation between the countries for the search and rescue of passengers and crews in distress in accordance with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The provisions of the Agreement include:
- strengthening mutual cooperation for the search and rescue of passengers and crews in distress;
- mutual notification of aviation incidents and taking necessary measures for the search and rescue of passengers in distress;
- conducting joint exercises of search and rescue services of both parties, exchanging information, and sharing experiences.
The Agreement also entails the obligation of the parties to mutually notify each other of aviation incidents and provide assistance from the other side.
Ratification of the Agreement will contribute to the effective organization of aviation search and rescue operations in the territory of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation in this area.
Earlier, senators ratified an agreement providing for the mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
