Talks were held in Astana between Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, National Business Kazakhstan (NBK) reports. The parties discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in mining, energy, logistics, agriculture, digitalization, and healthcare.

The Kazakh President noted the successful resolution of the dispute over the Dunga oil and gas field and the participation of Omani capital in projects of the gold mining holding company Solidcore Resources. The Sultan of Oman emphasized the integration of logistical opportunities: Kazakhstan's land transit potential between Asia and Europe and Oman's direct maritime access to markets in the Middle East, the Indian Ocean, and Africa. Following the meetings, a package of intergovernmental and commercial agreements was formed.

The high-level talks mark an important step in developing Kazakhstan's Arab foreign policy and strengthening Oman's regional presence.

For Kazakhstan: Resolving the Dunga dispute and attracting Omani capital to Solidcore sends a clear signal to international investors about the protection of property rights and institutional stability. Furthermore, Oman is becoming a key "sea gateway" for Astana to the Middle East and African markets as part of its export route diversification.

For Oman: Muscat gains direct access to the raw materials base and industrial potential of Central Asia's largest economy. Participation in Kazakhstan's mining and logistics projects is consistent with Oman's Vision 2040 strategy, which aims to diversify revenues beyond the oil and gas sector.
