Kazakhstan has decided to close the trade mission in Russia in connection with the optimization of the work of state bodies, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan announced, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan posted on the Open Normative Legal Acts portal for public discussion a draft resolution on the intention to close the trade representative office in Russia.

"As part of the process of optimizing the work of state bodies, taking into account the high level of interaction with the Russian Federation, it was decided to abolish the trade mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation," the draft resolution of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan says.

The decision to close the trade mission "is due to the fact that at present all institutional conditions have been created for Kazakh business to work in the Russian direction and resolve all operational issues," the resolution says.

"At the same time, the released units will be used to strengthen the diplomatic presence of Kazakhstan in other countries," the Government of Kazakhstan believes.
