The head of the Directorate for the Preparation and Holding of the V World Nomad Games, Nail Nurov, revealed the amount of funds to be spent on the Games, reports Zakon.kz. He stated that 5.7 billion tenge has been allocated from the Kazakhstan's budget for the Games.

"Yes, it's a lot of money, but I want to remind you that the budget for the 7th Asian Winter Games, which were held in 2011, was 20 times larger, and the budget for the Universiade, which took place in Almaty in 2017, was five times higher. This amount is supplemented by contributions from our financial partners and sponsors. So, in total, the operational budget will be around 8 billion tenge ($17.6 million)," Nurov said.

He reminded that there are 59 days left until the start of the Games.

"Today we are saying that we have entered the final phase of preparation for the Games. The preparation is proceeding as planned. As of today, all the facilities under preparation for the Games, where reconstruction and repair work is being carried out, are generally on the final stretch. You know that thanks to the preparation for the Games, Astana will receive a renovated 'Kazanat' hippodrome. The running track will be extended by 200 meters and widened by 7 meters. The hippodrome will get a new laboratory for horse diagnostics and recovery. And, if there were 50 stalls before the reconstruction, there will now be about 400. And many other changes," the speaker noted.

Kyrgyzstan spent a total of $4.4 million on holding the World Nomad Games in 2018, while the organizers of the World Nomad Games in Turkey spent $10 million in 2022.

The initiator of the World Nomad Games is Kyrgyzstan, which held the first three Games on the shores of Issyk-Kul in 2014, 2016, and 2018. The right to host the Games was then transferred to Turkey, which postponed the Games to 2022 instead of 2020 due to the pandemic. Kazakhstan has been granted the right to host the Games in 2024.
