The Kazakh authorities are absolutely committed to developing integration and cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with the heads of government of Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.

“As for Kazakhstan, we are absolutely committed to the further development of integration and cooperation within the EAEU. We consider this union to be a very promising integration organization. Great opportunities lie precisely in the economic potential of this union,” he said.

The President of Kazakhstan also noted that, from Kazakhstan’s point of view, all EAEU member countries must strictly adhere to the 2015 agreement and engage in the development of economic integration.

In addition, Tokayev pointed out the enormous opportunities in the development of the transit and transport sector. “We have recently taken appropriate organizational measures in order to strengthen work in this area,” he added.

Tokayev also noted the intensive interaction between the countries, recalling that the CIS summit will take place in October, and the CSTO summit in Minsk in November.

The heads of government of Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan arrived in Astana to participate in the Innoprom exhibition, which is being held in Kazakhstan for the first time. It will last from September 25 to 27. As Anton Atrashkin, program director of the Innoprom exhibition, reported, 177 Russian companies, including representatives of large, medium and small businesses, will take part in the exhibition in Astana. It is planned that the event will be attended by about 10 thousand people from 20 countries.
