Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of a trial shipment of oil to Germany in January 2023, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, head of the Kazakh oil and gas company KazMunayGas, said, Interfax reports.

"According to the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan, KazMunayGas is considering the option of sending a trial oil consignment to Germany as early as January 2023," Mirzagaliyev said.

On December 20, Mirzagaliyev met with Parliamentary Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany Michael Kellner via videoconference, as well as in Astana with Bundestag deputy from the parliamentary group of the Left Party of Germany Christian Gercke, the press service of the company reported.

The parties discussed the export of Kazakh oil.

It is noted that the Bundestag deputy expressed interest in stable supplies of raw materials from Kazakhstan via the Druzhba oil pipeline. The head of KMG confirmed the possibility of exporting Kazakh oil to Germany via this pipeline, but noted the need to resolve contractual and technical issues, the press service of the national company reports.

Earlier, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said that Kazakhstan could consider proposals for oil supplies to Europe.

KazMunaiGas is Kazakhstan's national operator for the exploration, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the interests of the state in the oil and gas industry.
