Another batch of humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan was delivered to the Afghan station “Hairatan” in the province of Balkh for victims of the strong earthquake that occurred on October 7 of this year in the province of Herat. According to the provincial department of the Ministry of Disaster Management of Afghanistan, more than 2.4 thousand people were affected by the earthquake.
The humanitarian cargo consists of 27 wagons with a total weight of 1,662 tons. It contains rice, flour, vegetable oil, canned milk, mattresses, blankets, sheets, pillows, warm clothes, tents, linen, pillowcases and beds.
Deputy Governor of Balkh Province A. Idriss, on behalf of the Afghan people, expressed gratitude to the President, government and people of Kazakhstan for regular and prompt humanitarian assistance, noting the presence of strong friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries.
