Kazakhstan is poised to become a vital link in global strategic resource supply chains. Speaking at a ministerial conference in the United States, Kazakh Foreign Minister Ermek Kosherbayev announced that the republic is capable of exporting finished products across 20 out of the 60 critical mineral categories identified by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), according to Forbes.kz.

During the event hosted by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Minister Kosherbayev emphasized that Kazakhstan is transitioning from a raw material export model to the production of high-tech manufactured goods.

Key Advantages for Western Investors:

  • Industrial Infrastructure: Existing plants capable of manufacturing end-use products for the global high-tech sector.
  • Legal Stability: A predictable regulatory environment and a stable political system.
  • Technology Transfer: Under a memorandum signed in November 2025, Kazakhstan aims to integrate advanced American technologies into its domestic processing facilities.

The conference saw high-level participation, including U.S. Vice President JD Vance, representatives from G7 nations, members of the Pax Silica initiative, and CEOs of major global mining corporations. The primary focus of the talks was diversifying supply chains and reducing global reliance on dominant players in the rare earth and critical minerals markets.

"Kazakhstan is ready to contribute to the creation of sustainable and secure supply chains for mineral raw materials, which are essential for the global energy transition," stated Ermek Kosherbayev.
