Kazakhstan became the third largest trading partner of Tajikistan in the first half of 2024. The trade volume between them increased by 19.5% over six months, amounting to $668.9 million.
Russia topped the list of trading partners with Tajikistan, with a trade volume of $968.5 million, a record in bilateral trade, showing a 14.1% growth over the year, Avesta reports.
Imports from Russia to Tajikistan amounted to $909.9 million, while exports to Russia reached $58.6 million. Russia remains the main trading partner of Tajikistan, accounting for 26.6% of the country's total imports.
Tajikistan exports agricultural products to Russia, including fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, dried apricots, and raisins.
China is the second largest trading partner with Tajikistan, achieving a trade volume of $877.5 million, representing a 24.6% increase over the year.
