Kazakhstan exports oil through Batumi port in Georgi

The volume of transshipment of oil from the Tengiz field of Kazakhstan through the Batumi oil terminal in January 2023 amounted to 82.5 thousand tons, the department for public relations and internal communications of KazTransOil JSC reported.

The contract for the transshipment of oil from the Tengiz field through the facilities of Batumi Oil Terminal LLC (BNT) for a period up to April 30, 2023 was signed in 2022.

KazTransOil has owned 100% of BNT since 2017. The Batumi Oil Terminal directly owns and manages production assets in Georgia. According to KazTransOil, the volume of oil, oil products and gas transshipment through the BOT in 2022 amounted to 1 million 927 thousand tons, which is 603 thousand tons more than in 2021.

The company also reported that in February 2023, KazTransOil plans to transport 20,000 tons of Kazakh oil to Germany in accordance with the oil supply schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan. Oil is exported via the Druzhba pipeline to the Russian border for further delivery to Germany.

In December 2022, KazTransOil sent an annual application for the transportation in 2023 of 1.2 million tons of Kazakhstani oil through the system of main oil pipelines of Transneft PJSC in the direction of the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany. Oil transit will be carried out under an agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Russia dated June 7, 2002.
