Starting from January 1, 2024, Kazakhstan has increased the tariff for the transportation services of Russian oil through its section of the main pipeline "Tuimazy – Omsk – Novosibirsk-2" ("TON-2").

The "TON-2" oil pipeline passes through the territories of Russia and Kazakhstan, with a designated capacity of 10 million tons per year. The Kazakh section has a length of 186.25 km, and Russian oil is supplied through it to the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant. Part of it continues transit to China and Uzbekistan.

The new transit cost for a metric ton of Russian oil over a distance of 1000 km is $11.28 (excluding VAT). Prior to this adjustment, the cost of a thousand-kilometer transit, set in 2018, was $9.3 per ton.

Thus, as stated in the announcement by the Kazakh national operator JSC "KazTransOil," starting from January 1, 2024, the cost of oil transportation for transit through the territory of Kazakhstan via the Kazakh section of the main pipeline "TON-2" is "$2.1 per ton (excluding VAT)."
