Nearly a third of the planet's population still experiences food shortages, and Kazakhstan plans to utilize its potential to ensure security in this area. This was stated by the President of the Republic, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the Boao Asian Forum.

"Nearly a third of the world's population still experiences food shortages. Kazakhstan, being the leading wheat producer in Central Asia, intends to use its agricultural potential to ensure global food security. Through joint efforts, we must strengthen international cooperation by creating targeted programs, joint agro-innovation centers, and transferring innovative technologies," the press service of the Kazakh President stated.

The Kazakh leader also highlighted the strategic importance of expanding transit and transport cooperation between Asian countries. "It is extremely important to increase our efforts in developing both existing and new transport routes. Among them is the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, or the so-called 'Middle Corridor,' which most effectively ensures the security of supply chains between Asia and Europe. Last year, the volume of freight transportation along this route doubled, reaching 3 million tons. In the coming years, we expect this figure to reach 10 million tons. At the same time, Kazakhstan is ready to cooperate with its neighbors in developing the 'North-South corridor,'" Tokayev noted.

Furthermore, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of strengthening technological cooperation, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, to ensure sustainable growth of the global economy. In this context, he supported the "Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence" proposed by China. Tokayev also expressed Kazakhstan's interest in collaborating with leading Asian technology giants to implement joint innovative IT projects.

This year, the Boao Asian Forum is being held from March 26 to 29 under the theme "Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Common Responsibility." This forum is referred to as the Eastern Davos, where important agreements are signed, and positions are coordinated among representatives of business and government circles from Asian countries and other regions.
