Kazakhstan intends to increase grain exports to China to 1 million tons per year, Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev said at a meeting in Beijing with China's leading agricultural companies - COFCO and CITIC Group.

The minister spoke about the broad prospects for growth and cooperation in the agro-industrial complex and plans to establish direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries.

In particular, Chinese companies were offered to supply grain through Kazakh companies that have significant grain reserves and can provide the necessary volumes and quality of grain for export. In addition, if problematic issues arise in logistics, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan is ready to assist in their prompt resolution. It is also important that in the border cities of Alashankou and Khorgos there are terminals with a capacity of receiving up to 10 thousand tons of grain cargo per day.

At a meeting with representatives of the China Meat Association, Yerbol Karashukeev noted that Kazakh enterprises expect the earliest possible resumption of exports of frozen meat - beef, lamb and pork. In addition, domestic factories are ready to supply chilled meat and fish products, poultry meat, eggs and other types of goods.

The Kazakh minister discussed the possibility of accrediting Kazakh meat processing plants to allow exports to China. Currently, only four enterprises have the appropriate permit, the list can be replenished with 13 more companies.
