Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliyev, met with the Minister for Entrepreneurship and "Made in Italy" Production Affairs, Adolfo Urso, in Rome. They discussed expanding trade relations between the countries and implementing a unified concept of "Made in Kazakhstan with Italy," Vlast.kz reports.
"One of the promising products, which, according to our forecasts, will be in demand in the Italian market, is horse meat. Kazakhstan can offer organic chilled horse meat, as well as export supplies of caviar and honey," Shakkaliyev said at the meeting.
He noted that Italy annually imports horse meat worth more than $140 million, and Kazakh companies could successfully supply high-quality meat to Italian buyers. Shakkaliyev proposed exploring the creation and promotion of a unified concept of "Made in Kazakhstan with Italy." In his opinion, this trade mark could be used for products jointly produced by SMEs in Italy and Kazakhstan.
"To stimulate domestic production, we plan to launch a Register of goods of Kazakh origin. It will be available to all interested parties and will become the only source of information on goods of Kazakh origin. Products from this register will be eligible for state support," he said.
In turn, Adolfo Urso supported the initiative to create a unified brand but believes that before a manufacturer releases a product under the "Made in Kazakhstan" label, they should first emphasize the characteristics of their product to differentiate it from many other brands.
