A meeting of representatives from the energy and water management authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan took place in Astana, during which the parties discussed issues of water and energy cooperation.
During the trilateral negotiations, the parties discussed matters related to electricity supply for the upcoming autumn-winter season, as well as collaboration in other areas, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reports.
"The parties reached a number of mutual agreements, determining the volumes and conditions of supplies," the statement said.
The parties also agreed to work on:
- The possibility of implementing a mechanism for hourly electricity metering.
- Signing agreements to regulate unplanned flows between economic entities
- Reviewing the existing terms of agreements on regulating unplanned flows.
"The participants confirmed their commitment to fulfilling previously undertaken obligations," stated the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
The next meeting of representatives from water management and energy authorities will take place in November of the current year in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek.
