At the request of the German side, Kazakhstan is considering increasing oil supplies to 2 million tons per year, Kazakhstan today reports.

As part of the agreement between Kazakhstan, Germany and Russia, 1.5 million tons of Kazakh oil were delivered to the Schwedte oil refinery in Germany in 2024.

Earlier, the German side expressed interest in increasing oil supplies to the Schwedte refinery to 2 million tons per year. This issue is currently under consideration. It should be noted that the supply of Kazakh oil to export destinations depends on the commercial attractiveness of the route and agreements between the entities," the Ministry of Energy told Kazinform.

The ministry also reported that as part of the development of additional oil export destinations from the Republic of Kazakhstan, an agreement on the transit of 1.5 million tons of oil per year was signed with the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022. More than 1.4 million tons of Kazakh oil were transported along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan route by the end of 2024.
