The authorities of Kazakhstan are negotiating with the European Union to provide Kazakhstanis with a visa-free regime, Tengrinews.kz reports.
Negotiations about this were launched several years ago, said Aibek Smadiyarov, spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
“Negotiations are underway on the Schengen area. EU approval is required. Now we have a unilateral visa-free regime (for residents of the Schengen zone who come to Kazakhstan). We are negotiating to make this zone visa-free for us,” the official explained.
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry stressed that Latin American countries are interested in providing a visa-free regime to Kazakhstanis, because the number of tourists from Kazakhstan is growing every year.
