On the issue of tariffs for the transportation of Russian grain, Kazakhstan will proceed from pragmatic considerations, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin said, according to the portal Zakon.kz.
Kazakhstan will not reduce prices for grain transportation across the country, Zhumangarin said in an informal sitting.
“No one is going to reduce it until there are no specific proposals for the transportation of goods, what quantities are we talking about. We do not have enough rolling stock, there are bottlenecks in the infrastructure. You know that we are going to build another crossing, the Bakhty road – Ayagoz," the Kazakh Minister of Trade said.
He noted that at the interregional forum of Kazakhstan and Russia, the issues of barriers that arise during the transportation of goods were discussed, but there were no issues related to the reduction of tariffs.
"We talked tete-a-tete in principle about these things. I said that, first of all, we will proceed from pragmatic considerations and think about the long-term interests of the country. The head of state said this in his Address, and these are absolutely fair words," he said.
On November 15, 2022, Russia asked Kazakhstan to reduce prices for grain transportation across the country.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin said that on November 28, the parties were to hold negotiations on tariffs for grain transportation in Orenburg.
