Kazakhstan only CIS country included in World digital competitiveness ranking

In the 2022 IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking, Kazakhstan secured the 36th place among 63 countries worldwide. According to analysts, the mere presence of Kazakhstan in the ranking speaks to the country's authority in matters of digital development, Liter.kz reports.

Kazakhstan was the only country from the CIS and Central Asia region included in the ranking. Additionally, Kazakhstan surpassed several European, Asian, and American countries. Notably, it outperformed Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, India, Poland, Romania, Brazil, Turkey, and more.

The IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking measures the ability and readiness of selected 63 countries to implement and utilize digital technologies as a key driver for economic transformation in business, government, and society at large. According to the research, the WDC ranking methodology assesses digital competitiveness based on three key factors:

  • Knowledge
  • Technology
  • Readiness for the future

The most digitally advanced countries and territories include Denmark, the United States, Sweden, Singapore, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Finland, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Canada.
