Work is being carried out to create additional container terminal capacities, upgrade transshipment equipment, develop logistics, simplify customs and administrative procedures, and digitalize the TMTM and "North-South" corridors as part of the development of marine infrastructure in Kazakhstan. Overall, as a result of this work, it is planned to increase the capacity of Kazakhstan's ports from the current 21 million tons to 30 million tons by 2030, reports Ritmeurasia.ru.

These efforts are part of comprehensive measures taken to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and will ensure the growing needs for cargo transportation along this route are met.

For example, dredging is being carried out in the waters of the Kuryk port. The seabed is planned to be deepened by one and a half to two meters. Specialized dredging equipment from the large European company Jan de Nul has been brought in for the work. Similar work will also be conducted at the port of Aktau.

To monitor these activities, Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, Marat Karabayev, visited the seaports of Aktau, Kuryk, and Bautino during a working visit to the Mangystau region, and also inspected the operations of the Sarzha, Ersai, and Northern maritime terminals.
