Kazakhstan reduces natural gas production

The volume of natural gas production in Kazakhstan in 10 months of 2022 in monetary terms amounted to 259.9 billion tenge. Compared to the same period in 2021, this is 1.5% less, Zakon.kz reported with reference to the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan.

In physical terms, 43,366.8 million cubic meters of natural gas were produced during the reporting period. This is 1.5% lower than in the same period last year. 25,777.1 million cubic meters of associated petroleum gas, which is 2.9% less than in January-October 2021.

Four enterprises are engaged in Kazakhstan in the production of natural gas.

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan predicts a shortage of gas. Oil and gas expert Olzhas Baidildinov shared his opinion, explaining the reasons for the current situation in the country with blue fuel.

The specialist stressed that Kazakhstan is an oil power, but not a gas one. At the same time, the prices for the sale of gas are inadequate, below the cost, but should be "in the market."
