Kazakhstan has sent several trucks along a new trade route to Pakistan through Afghanistan in a pilot mode, reports Kazinform.

"We are in negotiations with the Pakistani company National Logistics Cell, which will ensure the safe flow of goods between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Recently, we launched a pilot project, and several trucks have already set out on this route. The cargo from Kazakhstan to Pakistan and back covers a distance of four thousand kilometers. This is not a significant distance in terms of regional development," said Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Kayrat Torebayev, during a meeting with journalists in Nur-Sultan, dedicated to the upcoming Kazakhstan-Afghanistan Business Forum.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that Kazakhstan will continue its cooperation with Uzbekistan for the supply of flour and grain to Afghanistan. Additionally, an agreement has been reached on a 30% discount on transit goods through Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
