A member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Baidildinov, stated that the country should sue Ukraine over the kamikaze drone strike on a facility of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which caused $600 million in damages, reports Sputnik Near Abroad.

Baidildinov said that restoring the damaged "Kropotkinskaya" oil pumping station would be difficult. According to him, this could take a long time, and the volume of transported Kazakh oil has already decreased.

"You can bring as much oil there as you want, but if their capacity is reduced due to the accident, they won’t be able to transfer more. That’s the main problem," the expert explained.

Baidildinov suggested that Ukraine struck the CPC to "spite American companies" that extract oil in Kazakhstan and supply it to the European Union. He added that the Ukrainian leadership knew exactly what they were targeting.

"This is a deliberate attack," the expert emphasized.
