The Border Control Service of Almaty, in cooperation with the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan for the city of Alma-Ata and with the assistance of the Prosecutor's Office, has stopped the operation of an illegal migration channel, reports the Border Service of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan.

Along this route, citizens of Afghanistan were illegally transported through Kazakhstan to Russia and then to European Union countries.

During the operation, four Afghan citizens were detained while attempting to bribe a service employee with $5,000.

The investigation revealed that the bribe was intended to facilitate the crossing of the border by foreign citizens using counterfeit documents from Spain and Portugal through the Almaty International Airport.

Currently, an investigation is underway, and the suspects are in custody.
