Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, along with his team, paid a two-day official visit to Kazakhstan to strengthen bilateral relations, the press service of the Georgian government administration reported.
The Georgian delegation included First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songhulashvili, Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Alexander Tsuladze, Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
Kobakhidze thanked the leadership of Kazakhstan for fostering cooperation between the two countries and expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty during negotiations with Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
"I want to thank you for welcoming us to Kazakhstan. This is my first visit to your country, and I am glad to be here. Moreover, I am pleased that we are holding talks at such a high level. Over the past years, we have achieved significant progress in various areas. This is evidence of strong interaction and good coordination between our countries," the Georgian prime minister stated.
As part of the visit, Kobakhidze is scheduled to meet with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The two countries cooperate in areas such as energy, transport, and agriculture. For many years, Kazakhstan has been one of Georgia’s major investors. Trade turnover between the countries in 2024 exceeded $922 million (90.18 billion rubles), marking a 25.3% increase compared to 2023.
