Kazakhstan intends to abandon the agreement with Russia on measures to ensure mutual convertibility and stabilize the exchange rates of the Russian ruble and the Kazakh tenge, follows from a document posted on the Open NLA portal, Interfax writes.
The corresponding decision was made due to the fact that "the agreement has lost its relevance," the report says.
The document on the denunciation of the agreement between the Russian government, the Central Bank of Russia and the government and the National Bank of Kazakhstan on measures to ensure mutual convertibility and stabilize the exchange rates of the Russian ruble and the Kazakh tenge has been published on the Open NLA portal for public discussion, which will end on January 20.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan was instructed to notify the Russian government of Astana's intention to denounce the agreement.
The agreement on measures to ensure mutual convertibility and stabilization of the exchange rates of the Russian ruble and Kazakhstani tenge was signed in Moscow on January 20, 1995.
