KazTransOil JSC will transit 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil to Germany in the first quarter of 2023, Zakon.kz reports.

The company said that it had received confirmation from the Russian Ministry of Energy for the transportation in the first quarter of 2023 of 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil through the system of main oil pipelines of Transneft PJSC in the direction of the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany.

"This transit of oil will be carried out within the framework of the relevant agreement between the government of Kazakhstan and the government of Russia dated June 7, 2002," the Department of Public Relations and Internal Communications of KazTransOil JSC said.

On January 11, on the sidelines of the Government, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov commented on the issue of the possibility of exporting Kazakh oil to Germany.

So far, it is planned to export up to 1.5 million tons per year, Akchulakov said. At the same time, he noted that in order to start exports, a response from Russia is needed, because oil is transported through its territory. The first batch will be sent as soon as they receive confirmation, and it will also be necessary for the transport organizations of the two countries to also sign the relevant agreements.
