The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has issued a statement regarding the country's accession to the Abraham Accords, Vlast.kz reports.

“This important decision has been made solely in the interests of Kazakhstan and fully corresponds to the balanced, constructive and peace-oriented foreign policy of the republic,” the statement says.

It is noted that this step will help strengthen Kazakhstan’s cooperation with all interested states and therefore fully aligns with the country’s strategic goals.

“Kazakhstan will continue to consistently advocate for a just, comprehensive and sustainable resolution of the Middle East conflict based on international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the principle of ‘two states for two peoples’,” the MFA added.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had earlier discussed Kazakhstan’s intention to join the Abraham Accords during a joint phone conversation with the Prime Minister of Israel held in Washington. Tokayev emphasized that by joining the accords, Kazakhstan seeks to contribute to overcoming confrontation, promoting dialogue, and supporting international law based on the UN Charter.

As the Akorda press service stressed, this decision does not affect Kazakhstan’s bilateral commitments with any state and represents a natural continuation and expression of the country’s multilateral diplomacy aimed at promoting peace and security.

The Abraham Accords are a series of agreements to normalize relations between Israel and several Arab states. The documents were signed in 2020–2021. The first Trump administration played a key role in concluding the agreements. Under the accords, Israel signed peace treaties with the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco.

The Abraham Accords have strengthened cooperation between Israel and several Arab countries in defense, cybersecurity, and economic spheres—particularly in trade and investment—and have reshaped the political and economic dynamics of the Middle East, bringing substantial benefits to both Israel and the participating Arab states.
