Kazakhstan's GDP should exceed $250 bln - Tokayev

The Kazakh society needs to focus on the further progressive development of the economy, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev urged, Zakon.kz reports.

Real GDP growth next year should be at least 4%, and in nominal terms, for the first time in history, it should exceed $250 billion, the President of Kazakhstan believes.

"It is also a difficult task that the National Bank and the Government of Kazakhstan must fulfill is to control inflation. It is no secret that it hits the least protected citizens the most. Without solving this issue, it is impossible to ensure the growth of the economy and the welfare of citizens, to attract investment," Tokayev said.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, it is necessary to intensify work on the creation of new industries and quality jobs, especially for young people. More attention needs to be paid to health and education systems.

President Tokayev took part in a meeting of the Senate, where he presented the candidacy of Artur Lastayev for the post of Commissioner for Human Rights.
