Korean company Daewoo expands its presence in Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the head of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Baek Jung-wan, reports TDH.

The head of Daewoo conveyed greetings from President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol and expressed satisfaction with the meeting held on the eve of the anniversary of the opening of the "smart city" of Arkadag.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked him for the visit and sent his best wishes to the leadership of Korea, expressing hope for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including the gas and chemical industries, transport, high technologies, and investments. Special attention was paid to the participation of Korean companies in the construction of Arkadag city and the "Ashgabat City" project.

The President of Turkmenistan highly appreciated the contribution of Korean companies to the development of economic cooperation between the countries, especially in the gas and chemical sectors.

Berdimuhamedov expressed readiness to consider proposals for the development of the chemical industry, particularly the production of fertilizers.

Baek Jung-wan noted that cooperation with Turkmenistan is an honor for his company, given the country's reputation as a reliable business partner.

Later, the president of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Baek Jung-wan, held talks with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the meeting, the head of the largest company in the Republic of Korea emphasized that he was very pleased to visit Turkmenistan on the eve of the anniversary of the opening of the city of Arkadag.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that this visit would provide a good opportunity to discuss promising areas of cooperation.

According to a common opinion, a new page in the history of interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Korea was opened by the recent state visit of President Yoon Suk-yeol to Ashgabat. Important agreements were reached, and a solid package of documents aimed at deepening mutually beneficial partnership and enriching its content was signed during the visit.
