The current state of Kyrgyz-U.S. relations was the focus of discussions between Daniyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, and Christopher Landau, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, during Amangeldiev’s working visit to the United States, according to the press service of the Kyrgyz government.
The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere and covered a broad range of issues relevant to bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on compliance with international sanctions introduced in response to ongoing geopolitical crises.
The two sides discussed the transparency and legality of foreign economic operations—an increasingly important topic amid growing global attention to the Central Asian region.
U.S. immigration policy was another key subject on the agenda. In light of recent changes to visa and immigration regulations, the officials explored the potential implications for Kyrgyz citizens and ways to strengthen dialogue on this sensitive matter.
The meeting also addressed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation, including support for the private sector, investment in the digital economy, and the promotion of green technologies.
