Kyrgyz foreign trade, GDP grows

Kyrgyzstan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in January-October of this year, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to about 689 billion soms, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee Bakytbek Shokenov told at a briefing, Kabar reports.

He noted that the indicator increased by 7% compared to January-October 2021.

Shokenov said that the growth of GDP was affected by the increase in the volume of trade in the service sector. "The largest share in the structure of GDP fell on the service sector - 45%, the share of industry was 18%, agriculture - more than 14% and the share of construction - about 7%," he added.

Meantime the volume of foreign and mutual trade, in January-September 2022 amounted to $8.3 billion, Shokenov said.

He said that compared to the same period last year, it increased by 1.3 times.

Shokenov noted that export supplies decreased by 38.8%, while import receipts increased by 1.8 times.

“The volume of mutual trade in goods of the Kyrgyz Republic with the EAEU member states in January-September 2022, according to preliminary data, amounted to about USD 3.1 billion and increased by 30% compared to the same period last year.

The largest share of the republic's mutual trade with the EAEU member states fell on Russia (70%) and Kazakhstan (27.6%),” he said.
