For the period January-November 2022, they transferred $2.6 billion through money transfer systems. This is an absolute record, TASS reported, citing the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan. The previous maximum was set in 2021. Then, in 11 months, labor migrants transferred $2.45 billion to Kyrgyzstan.

Mostly money was transferred from Russia to Kyrgyzstan by labor migrants. From 700 thousand to 1 million citizens of Kyrgyzstan are currently working in the Russian Federation.

Most of the money from non-CIS countries in 2022 came to Kyrgyzstan from the United States — $51 million.
