At the end of June, a meeting took place in the city of Urumqi between the heads of the border customs authorities of Kyrgyzstan and China. During the meeting, the parties discussed relevant issues regarding the implementation of the "green corridor" for agricultural products using a unified logo.
The introduction of "green seals" for identification, to be used on vehicles crossing the border points of the two countries, was also discussed.
The parties reviewed the results of a pilot project to change the operating mode (7 days and 14 hours) at the "Torugart" and "Irkeshtam" border points. Additionally, issues of cooperation for conducting a comparative analysis of data in mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and China were discussed.
Participants addressed the topic of creating a mechanism for data exchange and information sharing about customs legislation violations between the border customs authorities of the two countries.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance the effectiveness of interaction between the border customs authorities of Kyrgyzstan and China.
According to earlier agreements, Kyrgyzstan and China have already decided to start the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, and have begun work on the construction of the Barskoon - Uchturfan (China) - Aksy (China) road, which will pass through the Bedel Pass in the Issyk-Kul region.
