Kyrgyzstan and EBRD agreed to launch key infrastructure projects

Negotiations between Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Economy and Commerce, Daniar Amanjolov, and the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Central Asia, Zhuzhan Kharitai, took place in Bishkek, Akchabar.kg reports.

The discussion focused on the development of Kyrgyzstan's energy sector, with an emphasis on the importance of water supply, transportation infrastructure, and support for small and medium-sized businesses. The talks addressed the implementation of new investment projects, opening up new prospects for the country's economic growth.

Minister Amanjolov expressed full readiness to support projects and programs being carried out in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing their importance for the country's sustainable development.

Zhuzhan Kharitai confirmed EBRD's intention to actively contribute to the implementation of innovative projects in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, as well as to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan.

Particular attention was given to the implementation of joint projects, such as the modernization of the Issyk-Kul ring road, the rehabilitation of the water supply and sewage system in the city of Bazar-Korgon, and the digitalization of the country's power supply system.

These projects will contribute to improving infrastructure networks, creating new jobs, and strengthening Kyrgyzstan's economy. In addition to this, discussions included ways to address climate change and develop the private sector, highlighting the common interest of the parties in sustainable development and environmental safety in the region.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on further steps and specific measures for the implementation of approved projects, which will be a significant event in Kyrgyzstan's economic life.
