President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held talks with German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Astana.

The Presidents discussed key issues on the Kyrgyz-German agenda in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

President Sadyr Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan highly values the established friendly relations with Germany, which is one of Kyrgyzstan's important partners in the European Union.

He expressed satisfaction with the activation of Kyrgyz-German cooperation, highlighting the successful official visit of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Kyrgyzstan last year.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized that the Kyrgyz side pays great attention to developing economic ties with Germany, noting the steady increase in trade turnover between the two countries.

President Japarov stressed that one of Kyrgyzstan's main priorities is attracting foreign investments and strengthening international cooperation. In this regard, Germany is an important partner for Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the experience and expertise that German companies can bring to the country. In turn, the Kyrgyz side is ready to provide favorable conditions for German investors, including various benefits and the protection of investors' rights.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz, thanking Sadyr Japarov for the opportunity to meet, expressed his satisfaction with the interest and readiness to continue developing bilateral relations with Kyrgyzstan.

Recalling President Sadyr Japarov's visit to Berlin last year, Olaf Scholz emphasized that this clearly shows that Kyrgyzstan and Germany are actively cooperating on concrete issues.

He also noted that there are many areas for deepening cooperation between the two sides, highlighting one of the most relevant today — the issue of migration of specialists from Kyrgyzstan to Germany, which is of great interest to German enterprises.

As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue the course of strengthening and developing Kyrgyz-German relations in all areas of mutual interest.

The German Chancellor had previously held talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and, a day earlier, with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, with agreements signed with both leaders.

In Astana, the second summit of "Central Asia - Germany" is planned, with invitations sent to the presidents of all Central Asian countries.
