Kyrgyzstan and Iran plan to establish investment office and resume air traffic

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, and the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref, held talks in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Economist.kg reports. The meeting took place within the framework of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session.

During the discussions, the sides explored prospects for cooperation in trade and economic relations, investment, and transit and transport sectors. Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the significant potential of bilateral engagement and noted that implementing joint projects would elevate relations between the two countries to a new level.

Particular attention was given to the establishment of a Kyrgyz-Iranian Investment Office. The head of the Kyrgyz government welcomed the signing of a framework memorandum and expressed interest in launching the office’s activities as soon as possible.

Among Iran’s proposals were the resumption of direct flights between cities of the Kyrgyz Republic and Iran to facilitate business contacts, increase tourism flows, and promote cultural exchange, as well as the establishment of sister-city and regional partnerships between the two countries.

The parties noted the positive dynamics of bilateral contacts, including outcomes from the April session of the intergovernmental commission in Tehran, and expressed readiness to further deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
